Implementing & Improving Antibiotic Stewardship: A Conversation with Novant and Legacy Health

A recent CMS ruling will require that all hospitals have an antibiotic stewardship program (ASP) in place by early 2020. During this webinar, hospital pharmacy leaders from Novant and Legacy Health will discuss the ramifications of this ruling, highlight best practices for implementing and growing a comprehensive ASP, and explore common challenges and creative approaches for overcoming them.

As a clinical pharmacist and leader focused on infectious diseases and antimicrobial stewardship, Lisa led development and implementation of a formalized ASP across 15 community hospitals and associated medical group practices. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy and Masters of Healthcare Administration from Pfeiffer University.

Samantha Bastow, PharmD

After serving as an emergency medicine pharmacotherapy specialist, she chose to pursue a clinical pharmacy management career. Most recently she was the director of adult and pediatrics Clinical Pharmacy Services at a large academic medical center in Chicago. Samantha received her PharmD from Palm Beach Atlantic University.
